Common questions

How do I restore a previous Pro purchase?

Open the app → tap the You tab → scroll to the bottom and tap Restore Purchases. If you previously bought Hone Pro on the same Apple ID, your Pro status will be restored automatically. Restoring is free and works across devices signed into the same Apple ID.

I bought Pro but it shows me as Free

Try Restore Purchases first (see above). If that doesn't work:

  1. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that made the purchase (Settings → [Your Name] on iOS)
  2. Restart the app fully (swipe up to close, then reopen)
  3. If still showing Free, email contact@teamam.org with your Apple ID's purchase email and the receipt — we'll fix it within a day

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Hone Pro purchase, and tap "Request a Refund." Apple typically responds within 48 hours. We don't have the ability to issue refunds directly — Apple holds the payment.

Does Hone Math sync across my devices?

Not yet. v1.0 keeps everything on-device — your sessions, your Index, your streaks all live on the phone they were earned on. iCloud sync is on the roadmap; we'll announce it when it ships.

Will my progress carry over to a new iPhone?

If you restore the new iPhone from an iCloud backup of the old one, your Hone Math data is included in that backup and carries over. If you set up the new iPhone fresh, your local Hone Math data does not transfer (until iCloud sync ships).

How does the Mental Math Index work?

It's a 0–1000 score that weighs your recent session accuracy, speed, and difficulty mix. Solve harder problems faster and your Index climbs. Slow down and it drifts lower. The score is computed from your last several sessions, so it reflects current sharpness — not your all-time best.

What's the difference between Daily Workout and Quick Play?

Daily Workout is a fixed 12-problem session, once per day, that keeps your streak going. Quick Play is endless — start anytime, stop anytime. Free users can play Quick Play once a day; Pro users have unlimited Quick Play.

I missed a day — did I lose my streak?

Yes — Hone Math uses a daily streak. The good news: a missed day isn't punished beyond resetting the counter. No nags, no guilt notifications, no "your friends are all 30 days ahead" pressure. Just open the app the next day and start a new streak. Your Best Streak on the Stats page remembers your record.

Is there a Hone Math for Android?

Not yet. iPhone and iPad first. Android is on the roadmap if there's enough interest — let us know at contact@teamam.org if you'd want one.

Can I use Hone Math without an Apple ID / offline?

The free tier works fully offline — no account, no internet required. Pro purchases go through Apple's StoreKit which needs an Apple ID and a network connection at the moment of purchase, but once you own Pro you can use it offline forever.
